How to find us?
Train
Exeter St. David’s Station is approximately 40 minutes’ walk away – come out of the station and turn right along Bonhay Road. After about 0.5 mile, cross the river at Miller’s Crossing suspension bridge, adjacent to the Mill on The Exe. Turn left and continue along the river to the road bridge. Leave the river here and go up onto Cowick Street. Follow Cowick Street for about 0.7 miles to the traffic lights at the First and Last pub. Turn right here and take second left into Savile Road. At the top of Savile Road, there is a large red brick building directly in front of you, which is the DCC Youth Centre. If you look to your left, there is a small playground with a bright yellow fence. The school is just behind and to the left of the youth centre, down the small side lane beside the playground.
St. Thomas station is closer to the school – about 15 minutes’ walk and brings you out onto Cowick Street by the river and from which you can follow the directions above.
Bus
From Exeter City Centre, take the E, F1 or F2 towards Exwick. Get off at the Buddle Lane/Savile Road stop (opposite a laundry called “Bubble It”). Walk up to the top of Savile Road. The large red brick building directly in front of you is the DCC Youth Centre. Look to the left of the centre, where there is a small playground with a bright yellow fence. The school is just behind and to the left of the youth centre, down the small side lane beside the playground.
The A and P bus routes also come quite near the school.
By Car
From A30 – take the exit onto the A377, signposted Exeter city centre. At the first junction – traffic lights with a Sainsbury’s on your right – turn left into Cowick Lane. Follow this for about 1.5 miles to a set of lights with the First and Last pub on your right. Go straight over this junction into Buddle Lane and take the second turning on the left, Savile Road. At the top of Savile Road, there is a large red brick building directly in front of you, which is the DCC Youth Centre. If you look to your left, there is a small playground with a bright yellow fence. The school is just behind and to the left of the youth centre, down the small side lane beside the playground.
If you are coming from east of Exeter, the simplest way to get to us is to come around the city of the motorway and then take the A30 west towards Okehampton then follow the directions above.
From the Crediton/Tiverton direction – come in along A377 Cowley Bridge Road. Take right turn signposted Plymouth and Torquay. Then take first right turn over level crossing (signposted Exwick). Go over level crossing and river, then at the end of the road turn left onto Exwick Road. Travel for about 1.5 miles, past Thatch Pub, up hill (cemetery on right). At traffic lights after cemetery (Barley Mow Pub on right) go straight across the junction into Buddle Lane. Take the second right into Newman Road and then first left into Merrivale Road. The school is about 200m along the road on the right, behind the Youth Centre.
There is parking outside school and all round the streets nearby.
